A brief history of Sabri Enterprises Ltd.

Sabri Enterprises and the Sabri Naanwich® are the brainchild of Chef Omar Sharif Baig. Chef Omar is a professional Chef working in the food industry for over 40 years internationally as well as in Canada.

His first job in Canada was in 1995 at the Taj Mahal, a well known 4 Star restaurant in Victoria BC, Canada. During the 3 years at Taj Mahal he also studied the other restaurants and researched foods available in this city. Chef Omar saw that there were numerous varieties / styles of ethnic cuisines in the market including sauces, pickles and chutneys (foods that he was familiar with) made in India, Pakistan and China.

During this time he also studied in the City of Victoria and around where he lived, to see how many Canadian fast food restaurant chains were in Victoria. These chain fast food restaurants are everywhere in the city of Victoria and are mainly Pizza, KFC, Subway, Mc Donald’s…. All are thriving in Canada as well as around the world. The numbers of these fast food restaurants are growing rapidly around the Globe.

On June 5th 1998, Sabri Restaurant at 3480 Tillicum Road Victoria, BC Canada was opened. The restaurant specialized in East Indian cuisine that Chef Omar excels in. To date Sabri earned a very good reputation. During first year in business Sabri received 27 favorable reviews in two major newspapers in Victoria & in other publications (several reviews can be seen on the official Sabri Enterprises web site located at www.sabrienterprises.com). This modest beginning has resulted in Sabri Enterprises Ltd., a company that currently employs five full time and five part time employees.

Additionally Sabri Enterprises Ltd. offers an assortment of Bottled Pickles, Sauces & Chutneys to compete with similar products imported into this country from India & Pakistan. The products are made from the best quality ingredients available and are prepared in accordance with local health inspectors and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. PH levels of all of Sabri’s products are examined and approved by MB Lab Ltd. P.O. Box 2103, Sidney, BC V8L 3S6 Canada.

These products have been test-marketed over a two year period and are now available in several major grocery stores in Victoria. With the aid of a well respected food broker Sabri Enterprises Ltd. will soon be able to provide its products nationally and internationally.

Sabri Enterprises Ltd. is member of Better Business Bureau since year 2000, the Victoria Chamber of Commerce since year 2003 and the Electronic Commerce Council of Canada Since year 2002. Sabri Naanwich® has recently applied to the Canadian Franchise Association.

Sabri Enterprises Ltd. has now launched another venture: “Naanwich®” Naanwich® is fusion food, a combination of far eastern flavor in North American presentation. This is to be launched as a fast food franchise with a unique product that is destined to be a milestone in the healthy fast food industry. Naanwich® is a trade-mark of Sabri Enterprises. The Naanwich® is now introduced to the local market for test-evaluation and analyses.

Most recenly, Chef Omar has introduced prepackaged Naanwich selctions to the local markets, and grocery stores, with an overwhelming success, increasing our exposure to the general public.
